Sadly, my initial attempts at approval for selling Field Notes were to no avail, likely my own making.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFast forward to the Saint Louis Pen Show. I attended solo and was receiving word that our sweet golden retriever coincidentally named “Lucky”, had taken a turn for the worse. The good boy had been battling lymphoma for a few months and stopped eating the weekend of the show. Our kids had named him Lucky because they felt “lucky” to finally be getting a dog. Sadly, we knew it was time for him to cross the rainbow bridge. The Monday I returned, we took him to the vet and they concurred, it was time. Our family was devastated. Anita posted a great tribute to Lucky on her Instagram account, and life in our house hasn’t been the same without him.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eCoincidentally (again), the next day I received approval to sell Field Notes, something I had been (lightly) working on for months. As someone who believes everything happens for a reason, this was an undeniable message.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eTo me, the colors of the “Lucky” limited edition are perfect. Embossed and bound with copper foil and staples, I can’t help but see a shade of our good boy contained in these memo books.
